Authentic experience: Staying at this hostel was like stepping onto a real sleeper train. The reused parts from the actual train added a unique touch and made me feel like I was on a nostalgic journey.
Common area inconvenience: It was a little awkward having to pass through the common area to get to the bathroom, especially for a female-only dorm.

The hostel beds were super clean and private, with cool curtains! Each bed had charging ports and lamps. The bathroom was just a few steps away and always sparkling clean. And oh my, the showers were absolutely mind-blowing! The hostel's train-themed decorations were really cool, and it was literally right next to the station! The staff, wow, they were so kind and helpful. Even before the trip, their correspondence was great. Can't forget to mention the amazing water pressure in the showers and how clean everything was. an incredibly accommodating and pleasant experience.

I chose Train Hostel Hokutosei specifically because it was close to Senso-ji Temple, a landmark I really wanted to visit. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of facilities and services offered by the hotel, such as laundry facilities and an elevator. I particularly liked that each accommodation had a safe and a rice cooker, and the shared kitchen was a great option for preparing meals.
Limited WC in dorm, narrow berths.

Cozy kitchen and dining area. Superb location near major train lines. Clean and convenient facilities. Plenty of toilets and showers. Nice selection of nearby restaurants. Kitchen and supermarkets for groceries. Homage to classic JR Blue Trains. Walking distance to Akihabara.
Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like.

During our stay at Train Hostel Hokutosei, we found the location to be incredibly convenient. With the train station just a 4-minute walk away, it was easy to explore the surrounding areas of Asakusa and Akihabara. We also loved the fact that there were plenty of local food options near the hostel, including hidden gem bakeries and food stores. The staff were always welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The hostel itself had a chilled-out vibe and was spotlessly clean, as if it were brand new. The best part? It was great value for money and made us reconsider the option of staying in hostels for future travels. We were also impressed by the unique concept of the hostel, with parts of it made from a used train, giving it a distinct identity.

Loved the fact that the hostel reused parts from an actual sleeper train, so unique! , being allocated the lower bunk as a child was a nice touch. The location was great too, with good shopping and Tokyo Tower nearby.
Oh, how I adored passing through the reception hall to get to my room. So convenient and private.
